Day one
Well it was a long flight, but I have a good think that the wait will be well worth it. As soon as I got of the plain I was warm greeting from three enthusiastic advisers Donna Powell, Don Casperson, and Galen Gisler. When the eight of us piled into a fifteen-passenger van, the shines of talking to everyone diminished. The van took us from the airport to The LODEST AR7 Museum of Natural History right in the Old town of Albuquerque. The Museum was more of a bonding place than a valuable lesson. I 'm not saying that the in formation was not informative and interesting, but after riding on a plain from New Hampshire to New Mexico I had a very short attention span. There was one interesting segment of the museum was the I-max Theater which showed a film about how nature can eventually keep the rest of the world in check. Following this brief visit, the team ate an authentic New Mexican restaurant. (Try the Green Chile it is really SWEET?) On the rest of the way to Los Alamos, the Group stopped at a natural dam and heat spring as well as A great view of a Volcano. After such a long day I slept like you read about!
Day Two
After receiving our badges in the morning, we went to the Bradbury Science Museum for a self-guided tour. (Try not to laugh when you get any sort of badge, it makes for a bad picture.) The Museum had a lot of historical background on the development of nuclear weaponry.( Well that is some heavy stuff. )After a museum the whole group was about to die from lack of energy. Being absolutely brilliant people that we are, excluding the two who we yelled at for not having a certain brand of chips tried chips, we went to the Super and grabbed some grub!
The reason why I skipped down to a new paragraph is because the following is such an important part of any earth watch experience, THE BRADBURY LECTURS! The absolute bomb in all historical lectures. Well we made the best of it, mainly Seth. Well he started a chain reaction of HISTARICAL comments about the old man. I have to get a picture of that man and scan it in to this report. I hope he is their tomorrow for our Mars lecture!
Day Three
Hey
Oh my god I was so stressed out in the morning. It was the morning of our GET or General Employee Training. It was easy, but we were handed a book and told to take it. Everyone was still hyped up from the previous evening's lecture and the jokes rang on. We took a geological tour of the area. In the time that we had getting sick on the winding roads going a hundred million miles per hour, we had a group discussion about Buffalo wings, Cheech and Chong, the lamest joke, croikie stuff, ghetto fabulous, and much more. We also touched the surface of the very controversial issue of the crawling frog. Anyway, the geological stuff was "COOL BIENS" or "Yah bozzie" according to the book of David Jiles. We then caught some prehistoric organisms and pumice.
The Man was Back!!!!!! All I have to say about that lecture is .. NO YOU CAN'T LOOK AT MARS it's too windy and were did the camra come from?
Over and out!
Day four
Well, the team and left four Santa Fe to eat and do some shopping. That was a sweet fun time, but then we went to a planetarium, YA BOZY! By the end of this session we were all ready to go to bed. Not that the show was bad, it was good, but being in the dark for so long in a very comfortable chair will knock you out. Then the group went up to Fenton Hill, to observe Binary stars, over all it was a filled day.
Day five
Well, after coming back from Fountain Hill at four in the morning, as a team we decided that the best thing for the group was not to go to sleep. At around six Kala and I decided that it would be better to wait until six thirty to go to brake fast. In are many hours of bonding together, we talked of many things, but the most interesting discussion of all was when Kala talked abut the history and future of Hawaii. After breakfast we slept until one at this point in the day we where still exhausted from the evenings activities, but not sleepy (If you have any Idea what I mean . that's what I mean!) We then had a butt kick'in presentation on Neutrino physics by DR. TODD (I don't know his last name, but his middle name is Smart or was it reallygoodpresenter?) Because it was Galen's B-day we all got a present by being treated to dinner. Then we returned to our second home, The Bradbury Science museum, for a lecture by the famous DR. DR. DR. Galen Gisler. At this time The group concluded that this man, even though that he wasn't an expert at everything he was smarter that the whole group would ever be, it was quite humbling.
Day Six
Dave is the funniest and the nicest man alive!
I am so amazed that he is truly a really big teddy bear. (Oh yah, he can only bench 325lbs)
We learned about radio astronomy to day and age the smartness of DR. DON radiated of him. Due to my lesserness I could only grasp the basics of the science, but I could tell that Don was in to it. The only thing we did for the rest of this day was go to the Bradbury Science Museum to hear about the NEAR mission that recently took place, It was cool.
Day Seven
Well, this day wasn't a total flop, we had some fun, but I didn't do any science at all today. I would have weed whacked the observatory if the weed whacker had not disappeared. I carved two walking sticks for our hike tomorrow, but I don't know if I'll need it.
Day Eight
Well it has been along time since we have observed, known thanks to the weather. (Foreshadow, we did not tonight either.) But It turned out to be on butt kick'en day. First thing, we went on a hike at Bandelier National Monument. It was an old abandoned Indian settlement.
Then we went to Galen's house for a meal and it was a very good meal indeed. It was also a very fun time. Because of his family's deep love for instruments, he and is wife have accumulated quite a few instruments. There was a big jam session that almost everyone was a part of. That was a very sweet!
Day Nine
Today I along with three other boys where bad. We were late for a web page workday that we, well I wont give any TRUE excuses. So this didn't put us in the best of moods, but by the time that the new Bradbury lecture that was the best yet next to Galen's.
Time out. Alyse wanted me to talk about her.
Once upon a time lived a young woman named Alyse Rothrock. She lives in Mexico Missouri. She is cool beans and other stuff. She even makes fun of my dad calling him PAPA WHEELEY. She hasn't even met him before
The end
Oh ya if you read this you must visit mopcloset.com, It is a vintage clothing store.
